Summary
GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES – The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing nursing care for acutely ill patients. The Emergency Department Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process, their skills in clinical judgment, critical thinking, prioritization, and time management to care for patients throughout the life span and with a variety of healthcare needs. The registered nurse performs assigned procedures that are within the scope of practice as set forth by the Iowa State Board of Nursing.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
· Must have excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from colleagues and the general public both in person and on the telephone.
· Should have the ability to read, analyze and interpret professional journals, hospital policies, and technical procedures.
· Should have the ability to document in the electronic medical record in a concise and effective manner.
· Must have ability to calculate figures and amounts for computing doses of medications and IV fluids.
· Must have the ability to rapidly problem solve and deal with a variety of variables and set priorities as well as the ability to analyze data from a variety of sources and choose consistently appropriate interventions to maximize positive patient outcomes.
· Must demonstrate positive, supportive behavior to members of the healthcare team, patients, and families through effective communication, calm appearance and professional behavior.
EDUCATION
- Minimum of an associate’s degree in nursing.
EXPERIENCE
- Preferably prior experience in emergency nursing. Six to twelve months Medical/Surgical or Critical Care nursing experience helpful.
CERTIFICATE/LICENSE
· Current RN license in the state of Iowa or a multistate license allowing to work in the state of Iowa
· Iowa Mandatory Reporter – Child and Dependent Adult Abuse Certificates
· BLS
· Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) within 6 months of hire
· Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) within 6 months of hire
· Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) within 12 months of hire

Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas or graduate of an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program approved by the State of Texas if area of intended practice is Trauma; Master of Nursing preferred.
Acute Care Nurse Practitioner with at least two (2) years’ experience in palliative care or hospice; or Family Nurse Practitioner with Advanced Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) certification, or post master’s certificate in Palliative Care required if area of intended practice is Palliative Care/Supportive Medicine.
Licenses/Certifications:
- Current State of Texas license to practice professional nursing
- Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center or National Certification Center in area of specialty or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners or the American Certification of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Certification
- Certified in Basic Life Support; current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP)
- Certified in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) if area of practice is Trauma within 6 months of hire date
Experience/ Knowledge/ Skills:

This position performs Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) procedures to create three dimensional images of tissue, organs and other body parts that are used by radiologists to detect abnormalities, make diagnoses and treat patients.
Minimum Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology
License/Certification:
- Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required
- Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT-MR); or
- Registered MRI Technologist by the American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
Experience / Knowledge / Skills:
- Ability to lift and/or maneuver patients in conjunction with others in order to perform job functions
Principal Accountabilities
- Performs MRI procedures on patients: Prepares patients for MRI exam, explains procedure, administers contrast when necessary, positions patients for the MRI scanner, selects appropriate imaging techniques, and ensures technical quality of the scan.
- Enters and monitors patient data.
- Performs quality assurance on magnetic resonance equipment and matrix camera. May assist with initial and renewal application for ACR and other accreditation.
- Identifies and reports any accidents, complaints or equipment malfunction to department management.
- Takes emergency call within the department.

- Six (6) years' experience with financial institution technologies: Jack Henry (Symitar, Synapsys, Synergy, SymXchange, ARCU), MeridianLink, Encompass, Alkami, COTS, Image Center, OpCon, etc.
- Experience in software development methodologies, version control, and testing practices.
- Experience in leadership and people management experience with an emphasis on coaching, mentoring, guiding and motivating team members on project and product delivery and career / professional development.
- Ability to influence executive leadership.
- Understands the principles of project management practices in an agile and iterative project management methodology.
