Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for our Intensive Care Unit (ICU). The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in critical care nursing and demonstrate exceptional clinical skills. This role requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while providing high-quality patient care to critically ill patients. The Registered Nurse will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients in the ICU, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments as prescribed, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and standards.
  • Monitor vital signs and patient conditions, documenting changes accurately in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Perform advanced nursing procedures such as IV infusion, ventilator management, catheterization, and acute pain management.
  • Educate patients and their families regarding treatment plans, medications, and post-discharge care instructions.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and adhere to NCQA standards for patient care.
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and infection control protocols.

Minimum Qualifications
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited registered nursing program required with a current unencumbered Registered Nurse License in Iowa or from a Compact State.
  • Experience in Telemetry or Progressive Care nursing
  • Progressive Care RN Certification
  • Dysrhythmia course completed within 6 months of hire or pass written dysrhythmia competency within 90 days of hire
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Advanced Cardiopulmonary Life Support (ACLS)
  • Recent RN experience
