About the Position

As a CVOR Surgical Technologist, you’ll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in cardiovascular operating rooms, contributing to each patient’s individualized plan of care with a highly skilled team.
In this role, you’ll work under the direction of a Registered Nurse, providing expert perioperative support as a scrub assistant for operative and invasive procedures. You’ll be a vital member of a team that values both technical precision and the human aspects of healthcare.
Key Responsibilities
- Perioperative Patient Care: Provide advanced care using specialized equipment and instrumentation, ensuring aseptic technique for optimal patient safety.
- Procedure Preparation: Verify supplies, instruments, and equipment, following the surgeon’s preference cards and ensuring readiness for procedures.
- Support Case Flow: Facilitate smooth transitions and case flow to maintain the efficiency of the OR unit.
- Safety and Compliance: Adhere to policies, standards of care, and budgetary guidelines, ensuring patient safety and high-quality care.
Minimum Qualifications
- Education: Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist Program
- Certification: BLS and Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA or NCCT)
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a Surgical Technologist or demonstrated competency in two or more specialty areas
Skills and Competencies
- Proficiency in Specialty Care: Experience and competency as a first scrub in cardiovascular surgery or other assigned specialties.
- Team-Oriented: Act as a resource and role model, contributing positively to the team’s knowledge and expertise.
- Attention to Detail: Ensure proper functioning of equipment and maintain adherence to aseptic principles.
Work Schedule and Unit Options
- Shifts Available:
- Five 8-hour shifts
- Four 10-hour shifts
- Three 12-hour shifts
- Available Units:
- Cardiovascular Operating Room (CV)
- Pediatric Cardiovascular Operating Room (Pedi CV)
