  • Maintain echocardiography services in accordance with standards established by the American Society of Echocardiography as well as State and Federal agencies. 
  • Daily technical operation of the laboratory. 
  • Working with the Medical Director, medical staff and technical staff to ensure quality patient care. 
  • Perform echo exams on patients as ordered by physicians with first priority given to trauma and critically ill patients. 
  • Select proper ultrasound techniques to provide optimum quality ultrasounds. 
  • Position and instruct patients regarding procedures. 
  • Review and agree to abide by the Porter Medical Center Compliance Program. 
  • Back up studies. 
  • Copy studies to disc as needed for review.

  • Participate in both in-service and out service professional educational programs. 

Qualifications:

• Develop and deliver educational modules and continuing education events for all aspects of the abdominal transplant program, including outpatient, transplant ICU, and acute care settings.

• Collaborate with the unit team to ensure adherence to OPN and CSM guidelines and integrate best practices into educational materials.

• Provide support for the SICU and work closely with the outpatient side of the transplant unit, including Aurora.

Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Nursing or a related field is required.

• Certification as a Transplant Coordinator is a plus.

• Experience as a Transplant Coordinator is essential.

• Familiarity with Epic, OPTN, and CSM guidelines is important.

  • You will scan not only in-house patients (i.e. NICU, PICU) but also in the CVOR, Pedi Cath Labs and travel to 7 outpatient clinics in the city where you will work closely with the cardiologist in those spaces.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Cardiac Sonography Technology, Radiologic Technology, or Sonography Technology preferred

Must have one of these registries (RCS, RCCS, RDCS, or RDCS PE)

Must have either experience or post graduation training in Pediatric scans specifically

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Certified in Basic or Advanced Life Support, required
  • One (1) of the following required:
  • Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International or
  • Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS) by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International or
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonographers(ARDMS)
  • For those with RCS or RDCS AE, must obtain RCCS or RDCS PE within 18 months of employment.

Principal Accountabilities

  • Prepares and examines all Pediatric congenital patients, verifying their identity for echocardiogram examinations in accordance with established departmental procedures and techniques, which includes obtaining health status and medical history, patient’s cooperation or ability to tolerate the examination.
  • Confirms that the ultrasound examination correlates with patient clinical history and presentation. Inform physician in charge of any contraindications to the procedure.   
  • Demonstrates proficiency in various echocardiogram modalities.
  • Analyze patient's medical record to obtain history of symptoms and necessary information for performance of diagnostic procedures and prepares preliminary reports for review and interpretation by Cardiologist, including comparison of previous studies.
  • Perform measurements and calculations according to laboratory and IAC protocols and guidelines and provide an oral summary of preliminary findings to the cardiologist.  
  • Acts as a resource and assists Cardiac Sonographers and Cardiology Fellows with pre/post procedures, preliminary review of images obtained and report. 
  • Onboards new Sonographers with departmental orientation, in-service and education.
  • Performs quality assurance on the equipment, routine cleaning, preventive maintenance, and report any equipment malfunction to echo lab Lead Imaging Tech, Unit Coordinator or manager.
  • Attends staff meetings, Echo lab QI and patient care conferences, ensuring continuing education and professional growth.
  • Participates in performance improvement activities established by the department.
  • Participates in call schedule per departmental standards.
  • Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department-based goals which contribute to the success of the organization.                                          
  • Works well with a team of other health care professionals to provide comprehensive care to their patients, i.e. Doctors, Nurses, Cardiologists and other Health Care or Medical Professionals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

The Ambulatory & Physician Services Market Director is responsible for the operational oversight and direction of assigned provider practice(s) and provider based clinic(s). The Market Director works in collaboration with the AVP of Operations and facility leadership, focused on implementing strategy and initiatives for provider based and practice operations and growth.  Responsible for leadership of one or more Clinic Administrators and/or Clinic Managers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To perform this job, an individual must perform each essential function satisfactorily with or without a reasonable accommodation. 

Support hospital strategy and clinic operations, leading the effective operation of designated clinic(s).

Responsible for all aspects of clinic operations and growth, including maintenance of key metrics, financial reviews, and practice growth initiatives and revenue cycle analysis. 

Interact on a biweekly basis and monthly meetings with providers, ensuring standards of communication and information are met and develop strategy on matters pertaining to clinic operational needs.

Responsible for ensuring monthly reports are prepared, delivered and reviewed with physician/APPs, reviewing financial performance with providers on a weekly basis.

Attend weekly Physician Services meetings and other physician services meetings as necessary. Attend Annual Physician Services meetings.

Conduct Quarterly Physician Group (all providers) meetings.

Prepare budgets, evaluate historical performance and generate goals for future achievement, and perform action planning as necessary for back to budget variances.

Monitor, report on and present financial performance for all assigned providers and clinics and collaborate with Market Director and other clinic leaders to ensure fiscal responsibility and adherence to annual clinic budgets.

Provide leadership to Clinic Administrators, including performance management, coaching and talent development, with at least weekly communication.

Monitor practices for efficiencies to reduce practice investment to include, but not limited to, accounts receivable oversight, budgeting, charge capture, monthly operating report (MOR) preparation and budget oversight. Monitor practice start-ups to aid in building existing practice revenue through charge capture, fee schedules, and new programs.

Implement and effectively manage Market Plan for New patients, driving towards clinic growth.

Manage support staff within assigned clinic(s). Responsible for performance reviews and other HR related matters

Regular and reliable attendance.

Perform other duties as assigned.
